Software Development Engineer in Test

Job description

You are a self-starting, motivated Software Engineer who specializes in test and is passionate about delivering high quality software. You’ll be the primary driver behind our test system designed to exercise, stress and explore the boundaries of our platform. You’ll be working in a continuous integration and deployment environment; our customers require that our platform work without flaws and to operate with high availability therefore your job will be to create the test system to verify this result. You’ll need to push the limits to find where our platform breaks, and be curious about exploring the nooks and crannies of the technology looking for flaws and areas that we can improve.

You should have these required qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years relevant work experience. We will consider those with a degree in another field or no degree if considerable relevant work experience can be demonstrated.
  • Automation experience (test, integration, build/release, etc.) in a distributed environment.
  • You have familiarity with deployment and production support in Linux environments.
  • You are familiar with various software technologies such as OOD, Nginx, REST, Spring and are eager to explore and learn new technologies that advance our platform.
  • You can demonstrate the ability to own, design, lead and implement test strategies for complex applications and deployment topologies.
  • You have good planning and communication skills – you can work with your colleagues, our customers and management to collect requirements, plan your work, and present results.

Other desirable qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and interest in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and asynchronous architectures.
  • You have experience understanding and diagnosing system and application performance characteristics.
  • Experience and interest in machine vision, optical or advanced photography experience.
  • You are passionate about working in an agile team environment.

Travel Requirements There is the potential to occasionally travel inside the US when we deploy at client sites, however this position is not expected to travel often.
